Easy Fresh Corn on the Cob

This is the easiest and tastiest way
to cook fresh corn on the cob!!
Cook fresh corn on the cob in microwave with husks and silk intact.  They will cook in their own natural moisture.
Place on dampened paper towel.  Turn ears over and rearrange after 1/2 of the cooking time.

Cooking Timetable:
1 ear - 1 1/2 minutes
2 ears - 3 to 4 minutes
3 ears - 5 to 6 minutes
4 ears - 7 to 8 minutes
6 ears - 8 to 9 minutes.

When ears are hot to the touch, remove and wrap in foil.  Let stand at least 5 minutes.
Remove husks and silk (which is easier than when cold) and serve with melted butter!

I really do love this method of making corn on the cob - no mess with the husks and silk - no big pot of boiling water and you get perfect cooked corn!

  1. That corn looks so goooood!!! What an easy way to cook it! I cook it on the grill too in a very similar way. I wet the corn husks down before they go on the grill though.

  4. I used to make corn like that all the time when my girls were little (minus the foil afterward). It makes doing corn on the cob so easy.

  6. Wow, I love this way of cooking corn. Can't wait to try it. We won't have local corn for weeks but when it comes in we could eat it every day.

  7. As my favorite TV chef would say, "how easy is that?" I've never tried it in the microwave. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Hi Kendra, My name is Kathy and I met you in your tea room during your closing sale. I am a fellow Dorista! Your blog is lovely and I hope you get more time to do some blogging. It certainly is a small world and I so enjoyed meeting you. I actually blogged about our chance meeting when I got home. Hope you'll come visit me. Also hope you'll start cooking along with Dorie again!
